About Me

My name is Aubin Niragira and I am a photo media artist, specializing in Film portraiture. I am a first-gen American born to a family from the east african country, Burundi. I was raised in the Jersey City/NYC area but I have also lived in Maryland, Vermont, France, and Australia.

My photographs are centered around representation of a myriad of people and environments. I have discovered that there are countless ways to convey the community and beauty that so many have, yet so few choose to discuss them due to Exclusions and reservations. Through my photography, I strive to engage others in discussions about the various narratives of our world and the ways in which we challenge those narratives. I hope to contribute beauty and understanding to the difficult conversations that must be had by the people that are most afraid to speak or, more often, not given space to do so.
